Rehabilitation Therapy
Rehabilitation Therapy
There are two primary categories of Rehabilitation therapy:
- Rehabilitation Therapy care is the treating of injuries or disabilities making use of physical activities such as exercise and massage along with mechanical types of therapy such as application of electrical stimulation, heat, water or ultrasound. Rehabilitation therapy treatment focuses on building up the patients muscle tissue and reducing any kind of related discomfort. If a patient is too weak to exercise on his or her own, a qualified physical therapist may gently move the patient's arms or legs to help build strength. Patients with more physical strength may lift weights to build muscle. At Physical Therapy Specialists the objective of rehabilitation therapy is to assist you to return to the most healthy and active way of living possible.
- Occupational Therapy professionals are responsible to treat patients who have chronic or permanent mental, developmental, emotional, or physical disabilities. At Physical Therapy Specialists, our Occupational therapy specialists are trained to employ a number of techniques specifically designed to help people maintain balanced living skills or return to work. Simply put, it's our responsibility, as Occupational Therapy professionals to
determine which areas of the body are struggling and how to assist our patient's in performing these types of activities in a more normal, healthy and independent way. As a result our clients have greater happiness and fulfillment as they return to a healthy active lifestyle.
